Bryan and Alecia Horner are residents of Moore, Oklahoma. They have 3 children, Austin who is 8, Alexis who is 6 and Ayden who is 3. The Horners are very active in their church and community. Bryan and Alecia currently teach the 4th grade boys and girls Sunday School Classes at First Baptist Moore where they have been members for a little over 2 years. Alecia is a stay at home Mom with the children and is building her own home based business with Arbonne International. She is very active in the children’s school activities and very involved in the PTA where she has served on the board for the last 2 years. Alecia enjoys having the opportunity to stay home with their children and be involved in their daily activities. Bryan has worked in the sales industry for 11 years. He is a successful Business Development Manager for a local Office Supply company. Bryan enjoyed coaching Alexis and Ayden’s Upward Soccer team this season.
The Horners have always known they wanted to adopt. This desire has become more and more intense over the past year as they watched several friends start, go through and complete the adoption process. The Horners have been praying that God would reveal His plan for their family regarding adoption. This happened on June 23, 2010 when Alecia saw a post about a friend working to raise funds to host a boy named Sergiy for the month of August. When Alecia saw the post she read it and immediately felt the tug on her heart that this was the boy! She decided to pray about it and ask God that if this were His plan to please make it abundantly clear. The next day while talking to a friend during VBS, Alecia mentioned how she and Bryan had been talking about adopting and the friend asked “have you considered adopting Sergiy?” Alecia knew this was the confirmation she needed to move forward.
Alecia called Bryan right after VBS and shared the information about Sergiy and asked Bryan to prayerfully consider adopting him. Bryan and Alecia agreed and YES to bringing home Sergiy to his FOREVER FAMILY! Their 3 children are ecstatic to have another brother coming to join their family. The kids are very eager to be able to meet their new brother and have been telling everyone they can that they have a new big brother that is coming home very soon!
